A Newcastle native and graduate of NUI Galway will take over as President of NUI Galway in January.

NUI Galway today announced that Professor Ciarán Ó hÓgartaigh has been appointed the 13th President of the University with effect from January 2018. Professor Ó hÓgartaigh will succeed Dr Jim Browne at the conclusion of his ten year term.
